"Sport Drinks" at MIT

We found the New Yort Times article "Are Sports Drinks Actually Good for Kids?" interesting.

It deals with questions we have asked ourselves, such as .... what about all those calories, and is not water just as good.

It is a long article, but, briefly, the point is that these drinks (think GatorAde, PowerAde) are ok for energetic kids and adults who are really exercising.

But, not ok for a drink with pizza for young or sendentary types.

At MIT we stock these "Sport Drinks"
Vita Rain, from CostCo and the TalkingRain company. Calories: 0
G2, from GatorAde. Calories: 70 per 20oz bottle
G, from GatorAde. Calories: 130 per 20oz bottle

Sometimes we stock low-cal or no-cal teas. However we have discontinued carrying Arizona sweetened teas because of the very high calorie count.
