Another MIT team reaches postseason
The advanced men's team "Middlebury Volleys" attained second place
in their league with a 5-0 win on July 2, bringing their record to
5 wins and 3 losses. A team from Essex Junction had already attained
first place with a 7-1 record.
Captain Mark Slattery of Moriah, NY,
will be leading the trip to the district tournament on Aug. 7, 8 and 9
in Portland, Maine, with at least 7 of the following team members:
his sons Matthew and Mark, also of Moriah;
Roger Kimberly and Bill DiLillo of Middlebury;
Paul Carrara of Cornwall;
Marty Whittemore of Ripton;
Bob Kesner of Waltham;
Philip Gridley of Bristol;
Richard Gottschall and George Stackpole of Plattsburgh, NY;
Martin Drolet of Morrisville, NY; and
Rick Batchelder of Rouses Point, NY.
Also eligible for the district tournament are the
intermediate team "Lobber Barons" and the advanced
intermediate team "Midd Hit Men."
