Mix 'N Match won the NE Sectional Tournament.
Twelve NRTP 6.0 level Mixed Doubles teams gathered in Boston June 25-7
to determine the New England champion. When the dust settled, the
Middlebury Indoor Tennis team, "Mix 'N Match," was left standing and
earned the right to represent New England at National Tournament to be
held in Arizona in Novermber.
Members of the Mix 'N Match team participating were captain Charlie
Peake and Linda Peake of Orwell, Edwina Ho and Karen Shackett of
Shoreham, Ian Barrow, Charles Biss, and Doug Smith of Middlebury, and
Karrin Wilks of Bristol. Other team members unable to make the
journey are Sara Marshall and Christina Wadsworth of Weybridge,
John Reynolds and George Wilcox of Shoreham, and Dana Barrow of Middlebury.
Mix 'N Match emerged from the competition tied with two other teams.
The USTA then used match statistics to break the tie. By a margin of one
more game won by Mix 'N Match, they were crowned champs.
